  1. Day 1

Fly into Belize Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport (BZE). Outside the airport you’ll find your private driver who will be holding a sign with our logo and your name on it.  They will then assist with your luggage and drive you from Belize City to San Ignacio.  Feel free to stop at anytime during your private ground transfer for photo opportunities, restrooms, lunch, or to simply stretch your legs.  Arriving to Belize by mid-afternoon will allow the unique opportunity of stopping at the Belize Zoo, home to over 170 animals representing 45 species native to Belize.  Make your way to San Ignacio and check into the luxurious Ka’ana Resort located minutes outside of San Ignacio.  Choose your favorite wine from their 1,000-bottle wine cellar and toast to the start of your Belize adventure!

  2. Day 2

Start the day with a fresh, hearty breakfast on your room’s terrace or in the main restaurant.  Today, choose between exploring sacrificial chambers in the popular Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM) Cave located in the Tapir Mountain Nature Reserve or a combo (above ground) tour to two nearby Mayan ruins, Xunantunich and Cahal Pech.  Learn about the daily life of the Maya as you take in panoramic views from atop of Xunantunich ruin.  Stop at Succotz market on your return to Ka’ana to shop for local artisanal crafts.  Upon your return to Ka’ana have a cocktail at the Wallace Bar with complimentary snacks during happy hour.  Tonight, take a ride into San Ignacio to sample one of the many local restaurants in town.

  3. Day 3

A full day of adventure awaits as you venture to the largest Maya city discovered in Belize, Caracol.  It is home to the largest structure in the country, Caana (Sky Place), standing over 140-feet above the jungle canopy.  At Caracol you’ll see ancient courtyards, residential remains, ball courts, and an astronomical observatory.  Climb into one of the 100+ tombs discovered at Caracol and atop the highest point (Caana) for un-belizeable panoramic views.  As you head back to Ka’ana, stop at Big Rock Falls for a refreshing swim in the pools of a 150-foot waterfall.

  4. Day 4

A domestic flight will take you from San Ignacio to the southern tip of Belize for an off-the-beaten path stay at the luxurious Belcampo in Punta Gorda.  Belcampo is located on 15,000-acres divided between a 12,000-acre nature reserve and a 3,000-acre organic farm.  There are endless opportunities to explore nature, wildlife, birds, and the farm which, along with traditional farming production, includes a rum distillery, bean-to-bar chocolate making, and coffee roasting.  With so much to do and see at Belcampo and its surrounding region, it’ll be hard to choose where to start.  So for tonight, we recommend slipping into the Jade Spa for a deep tissue massage or body wrap/scrub using locally sourced ingredients and botanicals.  Afterwards, enjoy your first of many culinary journeys at dinner with a farm-to-table menu that delights and surprises.

  5. Day 5

A fresh, delicious a la carte breakfast is served on the main restaurant’s deck overlooking the rainforest.  Today you’ll take a cruise to the Gulf of Honduras to snorkel with the chef.  Jump into warm, Caribbean blue waters to snorkel for conch, lobster, crab and lionfish while enjoying an array of colorful coral and sea life.  Hop back aboard the boat and celebrate your catch with a tropical drink, cold beer, or glass of chilled white wine.  Feast on an expertly prepared catch of the day by one of Belcampo’s talented chefs.  After a delicious lunch, head back to the hotel and take a swim in the pool or splurge on another spa treatment before dinner.

  6. Day 6

Wake up before the jungle comes alive this morning as you set out on a birdwatching hike.  Whether you’re new to the craft or an avid birder, one of Belcampo’s on site and knowledgeable guides will help to point out common and rare species.  Return to Belcampo for a hearty breakfast after a morning in the jungle and spend the rest of the day partaking in on-site activities and tours.  Whether you’re a coffee-addict, have a sweet-tooth for chocolate, or enjoy a little rum with your smoothie, there’s a tour to show you the full production process from harvest to (our favorite part) consumption!

  7. Day 7

Spend a full day off-site exploring one of the nearby Mayan ruins – Lubaantun or Nim Li Punit.  Combine this with: 1) a visit to Blue Creek (a Mayan village) for lunch and a swim through Hokeb Ha Cave or 2) lunch at a local cafe followed by a swim in the Rio Blanco Waterfalls.  Return to Belcampo in the afternoon and enjoy your final gourmet dinner under the stars.
