  1. Day 1

Fly into the Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport (BZE), where after passing through Immigrations and Customs, outside the airport you’ll find your private driver that will be holding a sign with our logo and your name on it.  You’ll head straight to Western Belize and the twin towns of San Ignacio & Santa Elena, but feel free to stop along the way for a bite to eat or photo ops. If you arrive early enough we can arrange to have you stop at the Belize Zoo which features big cats, monkeys, birds, and tapir.  Upon arriving to the Cayo District you’ll check into the luxurious Ka’ana Resort, the newest and only 5-star resort in San Ignacio. You’ll be welcomed with a private orientation and rum tasting before you head to your luxurious air conditioned suite.

  2. Day 2

We think you’ll agree that no romantic vacation would be complete without breakfast in bed. Enjoy a delicious, fresh breakfast within the privacy of your room/terrace before heading to the Mayan Underworld!  The Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM) is the top cave tours in Belize and one of our staff’s highest rated tours in all of Central America.  This tour involves swimming, wading, crawling through a few tight spots, and hiking in the caves so all participants need to be physically fit.  The payoff for trekking deep into this cave is a unique glimpse at the Mayan underworld with ancient pottery, artifacts, and of course the famous Crystal Maiden – the calcified remains of a young sacrificial Mayan girl.  After this amazing tour head back to Ka’ana for a dip in the pool and a happy hour drink around the fire pit and waterfall.

  3. Day 3

Today you’ll get to know local Belizean and Mayan culture above ground. You’ll have your choice of visiting nearby Mayan sites, ceramic making, birding, horseback riding, or even a Mayan cooking class.  This also leaves half your day free to enjoy the spa, pool, and privacy of your spacious room at the Ka’ana Resort.

  4. Day 4

After breakfast we’ll take you to the Belizean/Guatemalan border where you’ll pass through an easy immigration process and then switch over to our Guatemalan van for the remainder of your journey.  You’ll arrive at Guatemala’s second biggest lake, Lake Peten Itza, where you’ll find the exclusive Francis Ford Coppola hotel, La Lancha.  Opened in 2003, the 10-room, lakeside hide-away is tastefully adorned with local Guatemalan furniture, fabrics, and carvings and offers it’s guests 5-star service and fine dining.

  5. Day 5

Spend your day hiking, exploring, learning about one of the most important Mayan sites of all, Tikal.  Tikal was at it’s peak from 200 AD to 850 AD when it served as the capital of the Mayan kingdom, the economic and military superpower, and the epicenter for their spiritual beliefs.  Tikal today consists of 3,000 structures covering 23 square miles, the highlight being the climb to the top of the 154 ft tall Tikal Temple. In addition to the Mayan history this area also offers incredible wildlife as it is both a UNESCO World Heritage site and prized national park.

  6. Day 6

Enjoy your last day in Guatemala experiencing local culture with a guided tour of the nearby town of Flores, a Mayan cooking class, or even a Spanish language class.  If you want to be more active you can cross the lake to take on six suspension bridges and a canopy zip-line.  Of course if you’d like to simply lose yourself in a good book and work on your tan you can do that too, just be sure to cool off in their freshwater pool or the lake itself!

  7. Day 7

Today you’ll return to Belize so you can end your vacation relaxing on a white sand Caribbean beach.  Enjoy a quick flight from Flores, Guatemala to Belize City, Belize then one more short 20-minute domestic flight to San Pedro located on Ambergris Caye.  Nicknamed ‘La Isla Bonita’, Ambergris Caye features white sand beaches, crystal clear water, and the second longest barrier reef in the world less than a mile offshore.  You’ll end your vacation on a high note staying at the award-winning Matachica Resort & Spa which features 30 private, air conditioned villas and casitas, an infinity edge pool, the Jade Spa, and one of the best rated restaurants on the island.

  8. Day 8

Enjoy a tropical breakfast in their open-air restaurant and then change into your swimming suit for an exciting snorkeling adventure.  Head to the nearby Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Shark Ray Alley for a morning of snorkeling with turtles, rays, eels, thousands of reef fish, and friendly Belizean nurse sharks.  The warm, crystal clear water holds an incredible amount of marine biodiversity making Belize one of the best snorkeling destinations in the world year after year

  9. Day 9

Enjoy your last day in Belize!  Spend your final hours of vacation doing exactly what you want to do.  Relax with your sweetie in your private hammock, sip cocktails in the freshwater pool, or feel free to enjoy their complimentary use of kayaks, pedal boats, snorkel gear, and fishing gear.  You can also take a boat taxi or bicycle into the town of San Pedro to shop, explore, and enjoy the nightlife and local restaurants that make it so popular.
