This package showcases all the things that make Belize so special: pristine rainforest, amazing wildlife, Mayan Ruins, beautiful beaches, snorkeling/diving on the world’s second longest reef, and of course world class fishing. Spend three nights in the rainforests of western Belize and foothills of the Mayan Mountains then head to the beach town of Placencia for world class flats fishing. Finally end your vacation with a luxury stay on a private island 17 miles out to sea and just minutes away from the Mesoamerican reef.

Day One
Fly into Belize City, Belize where you will be met and taken directly to your waiting private transfer. You will spend your first three nights inland in western Belize near the city of San Ignacio. Stay at the award winning Chaa Creek, a leader in sustainable tourism, service, and luxury for the past 30 years. Twenty three palm thatched luxury cottages are perched above the Macal River to immerse you fully into the sights and sounds of their 365 acre rainforest reserve. Besides the exquisite accommodations in the middle of the rainforest the property also features a swimming pool, spa with panoramic views, free wifi, Ruta Maya trail system, and one of the best restaurants in Belize.

Day Two
Wake up to the sounds of the rain forest as you settle in to your new surroundings. Every stay at Chaa Creek includes complimentary guided tours of their natural history center and butterfly farm, guided tour of their Maya medicine plant trail, bird watching with a naturalist guide, and canoeing up the Macal River. You can also explore the miles of trails throughout their 365 acre nature reserve and spot incredible wildlife.

Day Three
Cha Creek is set at the foothills of the Mayan Mountains, so this area is also home to some of the best Mayan ruins in Belize. From Chaa Creek you can visit five different Mayan ruins on any given day, including the world famous Tikal. This UNESCO world heritage site is now a 222 sq miles national park but was once the capital of Mayan civilization and at its height was home to an estimated 100,000 people. Located just 2.5 hours away, you will easily cross into Guatemala and return back to Chaa Creek for dinner.

Day Four
Late in the morning we will pick you up and take you to southern Belize and the beautiful beach town of Placencia. Known for its laid back and friendly atmosphere this is a great destination for those looking for beautiful beaches, local culture, and world class fishing. Day Five
Let’s go fishing! Head out into the crystal clear Caribbean waters off Belize for a full day of fishing. With miles of saltwater flats, huge lagoons, river mouths, and the second largest reef in the world there is no shortage of fish to catch or places to catch them. Our expert local guides have been fishing here their entire lives and know all the best fishing spots, where to go based on the conditions and time of year, and what bait or flies are the most productive. On your full day you can catch anything from permit and bonefish on the flats, tarpon and snook in the lagoons, and jacks, barracuda, wahoo, snapper, and grouper out on the reef.

Day Six
Let’s go fishing! Today try a full day of fishing on Belize’s famous flats for permit, tarpon, and bonefish. With hundreds of miles of flats and countless cayes this is one of the best places in the world for saltwater fly fishing. Pole your way across the flats in search of tailing permit or get out and wade as you try to sneak up on one of the most elusive and hard to catch game fish in the world.

Day Seven
You’ll be picked up from Placencia and taken out to your own private Caribbean island for your last three nights in Belize. Located 17 miles off the coast of Placencia, Hatchet Caye is one of the most unique and exotic hotel offerings we have the pleasure of sending our clients to. This 7 acre island is home to the Lionfish Bar & Grill, freshwater pool, two well built docks on each side of the island, and 9 surprisingly luxurious private cabanas. Each of the cabanas comes complete with AC, ceiling fans, private bathrooms with hot water showers, wifi access, flat screen TVs with DVD library, and a private deck just feet from the ocean. Enjoy three delicious meals per day and the serenity of being in the middle of the Caribbean without the crowd.

Day Eight
Let’s go fishing! Head out with Hatchet Caye’s private boat and captain for another incredible day of sport fishing. The great Mesoamerican Barrier Reef is less than five miles away so you can head out into the blue water for big wahoo, dorado, and yellow-fin tuna is the seas are calm or stay inside the reef for snapper, grouper, jacks, and barracuda. You are also minutes away from the famous Gladden Split, one of the first breaks in the reef where on full moons you can catch incredible numbers of grouper and snapper as they spawn from March to June. Keep an eye out for whale sharks as they’ll be there feeding too! If you are after more bonefish you can literally fish for them right from the beach or the docks.

Day Nine
Last full day in Belize! Use this day to relax and do as you please before your return to reality. At Hatchet Caye your stay includes free water sports like kayaks, paddle boats, stand up paddle boards, Hobie cats, and snorkeling equipment. Snorkel a beautiful reef right from the southern dock at Hatchet Caye and see an amazing array of coral, parrotfish, turtles, rays, lobsters, and hundreds of colorful reef fish. If you want to fish one more day you can do that as well fishing for snapper right from the docks or by wading in the flats around the island for bonefish. For the more adventurous you can even take out a kayak and go kayak fishing!

Day Ten
Take a 45 minute boat ride back to Placencia and be transferred to the Placencia Airstrip. You’ll then take a 50 minute flight back to the BZE Airport for your international flight home.
